What’s happening?
WISeSat.Space has announced a series of satellite launches for 2025. The most exciting one for us is coming up in June 2025 with SpaceX! This launch, and others in October and December, will put special WISeSat satellites into orbit.
Why is this a game-changer?
These new satellites are built with “post-quantum-ready” security. This means they’re designed to protect against even the most powerful future cyber threats, including those from super-fast “quantum computers” that are still being developed.
Think of it like this: your data will be safer than ever before, even from tomorrow’s most advanced hacking tools. This is possible because these satellites combine WISeKey’s proven “Root of Trust” security with SEALSQ’s cutting-edge Post-Quantum Chips.
SEALCOIN’s Role in Space Transactions:
The June launch is especially important for SEALCOIN! It will include a special demonstration (a “Proof of Concept” or PoC) to show how SEALCOIN can power secure, automated transactions between devices in space and on Earth, without needing human help.
Imagine a satellite sending a signal to an IoT device on the ground, and that signal automatically triggers a secure transaction using SEALCOIN. This will be built on Hedera’s secure technology, making sure everything is transparent and tamper-proof.
This breakthrough will help create what we call “Transactional IoT” (t-IoT). It means devices can not only talk to each other but also exchange value and complete tasks automatically and securely. This changes everything for areas like smart cities, logistics, and monitoring remote areas.
